To connect DealMachine to Claude Desktop, add its MCP server using mcp-remote and an API key. The server address is https://mcp.dealmachine.com. This guide covers Claude Desktop; setup for other clients varies. See Connecting the MCP Server for the existing overview of supported tool categories and credit behavior.
Before you start
- A DealMachine account with access to an API key.
- Claude Desktop with support for remote MCP connections through
mcp-remote. - Your API key. Treat it like a password. Never share it in a prompt or public conversation, or commit it to a file or repository.
Connect Claude Desktop
- In DealMachine, open Settings, then Developer, and create or copy your API key.
- Open Claude Desktop's MCP server configuration and add this entry, replacing
YOUR_API_KEYwith your key:{ "mcpServers": { "dealmachine": { "command": "npx", "args": [ "mcp-remote", "https://mcp.dealmachine.com", "--header", "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY" ] } } } - Save the configuration and restart or enable the connection if Claude Desktop asks.
- Ask Claude to show the DealMachine tools it can access. Try a property or owner search only after the connection is available.
What you can ask
DealMachine's MCP tools include supported property and people search, enrichment, comparable-sales analysis, and account lookups. The tools available to you depend on your account access. Results and contact matches are not guaranteed.
Credits and access
An MCP connection does not bypass account access or data-credit rules. Search, contact details, and property details can have different credit effects. Check the Data Credits guide and your plan before making requests.
If the connection does not work
- Check that the server address is exactly
https://mcp.dealmachine.com. - Confirm the API key is current and entered only in Claude Desktop's configuration.
- Check Claude Desktop's connection status or logs and confirm it can run
npx mcp-remote. - If a key may have been exposed, follow DealMachine's current instructions for securing or replacing it. Do not share credentials when asking for help.
For another AI client, follow that provider's current instructions for remote MCP connections and confirm the required authentication method before configuring it.
